Eastern Holding Madrasati students visits JATS as part of their CSR
initiative
On
Wednesday, 12th October, the final year Madrasati students from two
high schools from Mafraq visited JATS (Jordan Airline Training &
Simulation) at their premises at QAIA, as part of Eastern Holding’s
initiative to introduce school students to the corporate world. The
students were given a brief about the training procedure every
pilot, cabin crew and maintenance crew member has to undertake to
keep their aviation licenses updated and in compliance with their
respective Civil Aviation requirements. Then the students witnessed
a simulated live land and water plane ditching emergency evacuation
and a practical economy class service application in JATS’ In-Flight
Safety department. They also each had the opportunity of a lifetime
to ‘fly’ in one of JATS’ 6 simulators. Afterwards the students were
treated to a light lunch in the cafeteria and mingled with JATS’
management and staff. “It is a privilege to open JATS’ doors to
these students and to make a small contribution in exposing them to
the aviation industry, which hopefully might be of great value for
them later in their life” said Amer Fakhoury, JATS’s General
Manager.

Dr. Majid AlSadi, Chairman of Eastern Investment
Group Holding, said: "Since our acquisition of 80% of JATS, we have
invested heavily in developing and improving its facilities and
services to become a world leader in its field."
Dr. AlSadi highlighted the fact that JATS' services continue to
boost the efficiency of the aviation industry in Jordan and the
Middle East. With the industry reaching unprecedented heights in
terms of service providers and passengers, JATS continues to be a
leader in the sector, according to the best world class practices.
The Company's highly qualified and specialized staff and facilities
have provided training for a record-breaking 5,000+ trainees this
past year.
The new simulators have been designed and manufactured based on the
most current international standards and are approved by JAR-STD as
Level D to operate all normal and abnormal training procedures and
whatever is essential for the flight crew’s training for the
different airlines in the Middle East and around the world. These
new simulators will be added to the rest of JATS’ facilities,
enabling JATS to cater to a wider percentage of trainees in Jordan
and the globe. Currently, the JATS simulator portfolio includes:
B767-300ER FFS, A310-300, A320-200, A320-200 FFS, B737-800NG and
Embraer 170/190.
The B737 and Embraer simulators have been installed in the newly
designed, hi-tech building at Queen Alia International Airport and
the B767 at JATS’s facilities in Amman Civil Airport. This new
building also contains offices, various training facilities,
classrooms and a crew lounge.
The retired B707 simulator, which is one of the first B707
simulators that were manufactured in the early 60s, is showcased in
the magnificent lobby, symbolizing the cross-over from the ‘old’ to
the ‘new’ simulator technology.
In August 2006, Eastern Investment Group Holding acquired 80% of
JATS as part of Royal Jordanian’s privatization scheme.
|
|
JATS' Acting General Manager, Mr. Nasri Nowar, stated that the
acquisition of these simulators serves to reinforce and strengthen
JATS' vision of providing the best, cutting-edge training for its
trainees. He noted that JATS continues to enjoy its competitive
advantage of aviation training in Jordan and the international
aviation industry by constantly broadening its product range to meet
the needs of its customers.
Mr. Nowar went on to add that JATS’ versatility, professionalism and
expertise have stood the test of time; the Company offers top-notch
training products and has positioned itself as a leading regional
and international aviation training center. He also said that the
accuracy of simulation is such that the omni-visual system can be
used throughout the simulated flight envelope with optimum training
efficiency, particularly during taxi, take off, low altitude flight,
approach and landing.
JATS’ extensive training facilities now combine Airbus, Boeing and
Embraer simulators. The Company offers complete training packages
that cover a wide range of simulator- and classroom-based
instruction for cockpit crew, cabin crew and airline staff from the
domestic and international airline community.
